In the realm of modern digitalized substations, SCADA systems are instrumental in the collection and conversion of analog data from the entire power grid into a digital format. This transformation not only boosts situational awareness but also facilitates the optimization of operational efficiency and enhances maintenance practices.

Lanner's latest offering, the LEC-3340, stands out as a fanless 3U rackmount Edge server, boasting IEC 61850-3 certification. The introduction of three new SKUs brings significant improvements over its predecessor, specifically tailored to fortify automation capabilities and elevate network security within substations and the broader power utility landscape.

Lanner's LEC-3340 has been upgraded to support the Intel® Xeon® W-11000 series processor, code-named Tiger Lake H. This new processor brings forth heightened Ethernet bandwidth capabilities, providing users with 4x 2.5G Ethernet ports and a maximum memory capacity of 64GB DDR4.

For seamless connectivity with IoT devices in the substation, the LEC-3340 comes equipped with a comprehensive array of IO ports. This includes 5x USB 3.0 ports, an enhancement to 4x isolated COM ports featuring 15KV ESD Protection, 4x GbE RJ45 or 4x GbE SFP ports, the addition of 2x new HDMI display ports, and an optional TPM 2.0 function. Additionally, the LEC-3340 introduces support for booting drives via SATA M.2 and PCIe M.2. It further includes 2x 2.5” Swappable HDD/SSD drive bays with RAID support for enhanced storage flexibility.

In order to function effectively in challenging environments, the LEC-3340 is designed to accommodate a PCIe industrial-grade Ethernet card capable of operating within a broad temperature range of 40ºC ~ 70ºC. To guarantee robust system operation and high availability, the LEC-33400 features support for redundant power modules. Users can select from SKUs offering either 2x DC power (16.6 ~ 160VDC) or an AC+DC combo (100 ~ 240VAC and 16.6 ~ 160VDC) based on their specific requirements.
