With the sudden rapid growth of work from home, remote education, and telemedicine, demand for scarce IPv4 addresses has exploded, but the dwindling unowned addresses are often very expensive and frequently polluted as they were once used by spammers or other blacklisted entities. And because there are so many IPv4-only speaking CPE and websites, a wholesale move to IPv6 is not yet practical.

A white box CGNAT router is an inexpensive way to share IPv4 addresses a Broadband Service Provider already has. Based upon well-known Network Address Translation (NAT) techniques, Lanner partners with netElastic to build a virtual CGNAT router that amplifies your available network address space, provides critical logging capabilities and has all the gateway services that differentiate CGNAT from vanilla NAT.

netElastic GCNAT

netElastic CGNAT can help service providers lower costs by up to 80% compared to other CGNAT solutions, delivering unparalleled value with industry leading price/performance.

  • Near line-rate performance across any number of 10/25/40/100G interfaces (scales with cores)
  • Scales at 10Gbps per CPU core up to 16x 10GbE, 4x 40GbE, or 4x 100GbE.
  • Supports 6 million NAT sessions (20,000 to 40,000 subscribers)
  • Subscriber session controls ensure fair use and quotas of NAT resources
  • Extends the useful life of scarce IPv4 address space with NAT44(4)
  • Available as an appliance or as software to deploy on your hardware or VM
  • Transition to IPv6 at any time with Dual-Stack native IPv6 and network address translated IPv4
  • Application layer gateways ensure NAT is transparent to applications
  • Comprehensive IPDR logging options with configurable detail level to help meet stringent compliance and LEA requirements
