Lanner today announced the release of the ECA-4035, an edge computing appliance powered by Intel’s Xeon® D-2700 multi-core processor (codenamed Icelake-D).
This high-performance appliance offers 8~20 cores of computing power and comes with 1x OCP 3.0 and 1x FH 3/4L PCIe that supports 300W GPU cards, making the ECA-4035 an ideal platform for deployment not only as edge AI servers for smart city applications, but also as multi-access edge computing (MEC) servers for 5G edge cloud and open RAN platform for distributed units.
The ECA-4035 does also feature built-in support for Time Synchronization, making available real-time optimization that meets the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) accuracy and latency requirements of virtualized baseband functions such as vRAN.
The ECA-4035’s 438 x 380 x 44 mm chassis allows for installations in settings with limited spaces; the majority of its I/O ports are conveniently placed for easy maintenance.
Furthermore, the ECA-4035 (SKU B) feature a -40ºC to 65ºC operating temperature range, significantly increasing its system reliability and availability. And in terms of hardware-based security, the ECA-4035 does feature on-board Trusted Platform Module (TPM), providing tamper-proofing crypto-processing.
The ECA-4035’s other outstanding features are as followed:
- 4x DDR4 3200MHz REG RDIMM, Max. 256GB
- 8x 10G SFP+, 2x 25G SFP28, 1x RJ45, 2x USB 3.0
- 1x RJ45 Console, 2x M.2 NVMe 2280
- Intel® QuickAssist Technology
