Lanner today announced the release of the VP-501, a 1U network security platform powered by NXP Layerscape® LX2160 multicore processor.
The VP-501’s outstanding features include 8x 1GbE RJ45, 2x 10G RJ45, 2x 10G SFP+, 1x NIC slot (1x PCIe*8 or 2x PCIe*4). And its performance is powered by NXP Layerscape® LX2160 processor, the highest-performance member of the Layerscape family, offering low-power consumption and 16 Arm® Cortex®-A72 cores with security offload, robust traffic management, quality of service and datapath acceleration optimized for L2/3 packet processing.
The VP-501 is ideal for Edge Computing and appliances such as 5G packet processing, network function virtualization (NFV), white-box switching, high-processing industrial computers and machine learning as its seamless integration with the advanced sixteen-core 64-bit Arm processor delivers supercharged performance with a powerful packet offload and Ethernet controllers.
For wireless connectivity, the VP-501 comes with 1x M.2 slot for LTE/5G NR and dual sim support. Other features include 1x RJ45 console port, 1x USB 3.0, up to 64GB of DDR4 2900MHz memory, 300W single ATX PSU and 3x smart fans.
