Compact NVIDIA MGX-based platform integrates Grace CPU, DPU, and GPU to accelerate AI-native 5G workloads at the edge
Lanner Electronics, a global leader in high-performance network appliances and edge AI platforms, today announced the launch of the ECA-6710, a powerful short-depth AI-RAN server supporting the NVIDIA Compact Aerial RAN Computer (ARC-Compact).
Designed for next-generation mobile networks, the ECA-6710 combines the NVIDIA Grace™ CPU Superchip, NVIDIA BlueField-3® DPU, ConnectX-7® SmartNIC, and NVIDIA GPU options to deliver a scalable, energy-efficient computing platform for AI-driven, latency-sensitive 5G RAN and vRAN workloads at the cell site.
As AI reshapes both enterprise and telecom infrastructure, the ECA-6710 provides a unified, AI-native platform that consolidates CPU, GPU, and DPU acceleration to meet the increasing compute density demands of centralized and distributed AI-RAN environments.
Based on the modular NVIDIA MGX™ architecture, the ECA-6710 features the NVIDIA Grace CPU C1, offering 72 Arm® Neoverse™ V2 cores engineered for exceptional performance-per-watt. This enables telecom operators to increase edge-site computing efficiency while retaining deployment flexibility.
For high-bandwidth networking and acceleration, the platform supports dual NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs or ConnectX-7 SmartNICs to deliver up to 400Gbps hardware-offloaded throughput. The system also accommodates a single NVIDIA GPU—such as the L4, L40S, or RTX™ PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition—optimized for AI-RAN, video analytics, and on-premises large language model (LLM) inference.
Purpose-built for telco edge environments, the ECA-6710 features a short-depth, front-access chassis, NEBS-compliant design, and wide operating temperature range (-5°C to 50°C). Its compact footprint integrates easily into space- and power-constrained deployments including micro data centers, telecom base stations, and outdoor field cabinets.
