Today, Lanner Electronics is releasing a fanless Intel® Core i5/i7 based industrial computer. The LEC-7920 is designed with a Mini-PCIe slot with a SIM card reader for 3G connectivity, Intel GMA HD graphics for full high-definition output and a dust proof design for longevity. It is the ideal industrial pc for digital signage or automation applications in both the industrial and commercial settings.
“The LEC-7920 is already a success,” said Eric Chiu, Director of the Applied Computing business group at Lanner. “Our engineers spent a great amount of time to incorporate the Intel Core i5/i7 CPU into a fanless and easily maintainable chassis. The top and bottom covering open on a hinge, allowing for quick access to the motherboard. The LEC-7920 offers high end computing power in a longer living appliance, we have already been sending out sample appliances to our current customers.”
Similar to other Lanner applied computing products; the LEC-7920 incorporates a Mini-PCIe slot with an attached SIM card reader. When equipped with a module this appliance can be connected through GPS or 3G networks, allowing for GPS tracking or content updates via 3G.The platform uses Intel products for the chipset, CPU, graphics and Ethernet controller. The Intel HM55 chipset is compatible with DDR3 memory. The appliance has two SODIMM slots that can hold up to 8GBs of memory. The Intel Core i5/i7 ensures that the LEC-7920 will not have computing issues. Intel Ethernet controllers are the best available, the Intel 82574L offers Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth for each Ethernet port.
The LEC-7920 offers two streams of full high definition quality video via dual DVI ports. One port is DVI-I port, compatible with both analog and digital DVI signals, the other is a DVI-D port, compatible with digital only. Each port is supported with Intel GMA HD graphics.
This platform is compatible with Microsoft operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 7 and Linux.
Other I/O includes: a Mic-In, Line-Out for audio, four USB ports, two DB9 serial ports, and a DB9 digital in/ digital out port.
