The Hague, Netherlands - 9 October 2017 - Lanner, the world leader in providing customizable SDN and NFV network computing appliances, has partnered with 128 Technology to help customers overcome networking challenges through the 128T Networking Platform, an intelligent software router that transforms networks by making them simpler, smarter, and more secure

Lanner and 128 Technology have partnered to bring optimized SD-WAN solutions to deliver a transport agnostic solution – combining MPLS and VPN tunnels, 4G LTE, and WiFi failover -- and legacy ATM T1 services into a single uCPE platform. The combined solution will debut via live demos during Layer 123’s SDN NFV World Congress event in The Hague 9 - 13 October at booth #A6.

The Lanner and 128 Technology solutions address latency issues prevalent in many SD-WAN deployments. Based on Secure Vector Routing (SVR), this cutting-edge solution includes a session-oriented, application-aware universal CPE platform with native load balancing and security, a strong foundation for all VNF deployments.

“Getting it right from the beginning is key to roll out cloud based services. The combination of the Lanner vCPE platform solution with multiple access technologies and networking infrastructure simplifies the network and the utilization of compute resources” said Sven Freudenfeld, Director Business Development for the Telecom Application Business Unit at Lanner.

Sharing hardware resources for multiple VNFs is just the beginning when it comes to deploying universal CPEs. In terms of management and operational costs, network administrators are plagued with significant challenges. uCPE deployments with “zero-touch” provisioning, in areas like MPLS tunnels, 4G LTE failover, WiFi and so on, still require management across multiple platforms.

Lanner’s white-box uCPE appliances are specifically designed for VNFs edge deployments. They provide low latency, high availability, crypto acceleration, WiFi and LTE connectivity and failover, as well as high core counts for network virtualization.

“Partnering with the Lanner team allows us to deliver a SVR solution that makes economic sense, is easy to deploy, and simple to manage across multiple environments. With Lanner’s broad portfolio of hardware appliance solutions, we can address customer requirements across multiple vertical markets as they transition to a virtual world,” said Andy Ory, CEO, 128 Technology.

Pairing Lanner’s appliances for VNF edge deployments with 128 Technology’s SVR solution has resulted in a flexible and agile SD-WAN. The solution is ideal for providing dynamic services and on-demand network functions that require virtualization-ready uCPE platforms. Both solutions paired together address the challenges associated with bandwidth optimization and on-demand network function deployments.
