Today, Lanner Electronics Inc. unveiled the LVC-5570 and LVC-5570N, two newly designed high-performance, fanless in-vehicle computers utilizing the Intel® Sandy Bridge processor. The LVC-5570 and LVC-5570N, compliant with MIL-STD-810G, are designed for in-vehicle remote tracking/monitoring, computer-aided dispatching, public transportation surveillance, infotainment, emergency medical services and fleet management.

“The LVC-5570 and LVC-5570N puts Lanner a cut above the rest in the transportation and in-vehicle market. Both computers feature intelligent power management, anti-vibration design, and a removable hard drive,” said Eric Chiu, Lanner’s Applied Computing Director. “These computers are ruggedized and meet the military standard, MIL-STD-810G, passing all shock damage and temperature tests.”

The LVC-5570/5570N is outfitted with industrial components and can operate in harsh environments, with a temperature range of between -30o and 55o Celsius. An optional suspension kit is available for extreme vibration resistance.

With software, the LVC-5570/5570N can detect the ignition on/off status and configure delay control with low voltage protection. The computers can also power on remotely by 3G Ring or SMS.

The LVC-5570 has four Mini-PCIe sockets for expansion, and comes with three SIM card readers to allow for 3G communication and wider bandwidth. Common combinations of these four sockets include outfitting video capture cards, Wi-Fi modules and 3G modules to ensure that the computer can always monitor vehicle status and communicate wirelessly.

The LVC-5570 and 5570N are equipped with a Sandy Bridge processor (Intel® Core™ i5/i7/Celeron® 810E). It comes with the Intel® HM65 chipset and two SO-DIMM slots that are capable of using up to 16GB of DDR3 memory. Video outputs include VGA, DVI-D and HDMI, and a mic-in/line-out for audio. Two removable 2.5” SSD/HDD drive bays are used for external access. I/O on the LVC-5570/5570N include: GPS, G-Sensor, six USB ports, and two RS-232/422/485 compatible serial ports.
