Today sees the release of two new products which expand the Lanner range of industrial computers and offer excellent performance for budget-conscious purchasers. These competitive options see Lanner further cement its position as a leading provider of industrial computing systems.

The LEC-7950 is a fanless IPC designed for the digital signage market. An upgrade from the previous generation LEC-7920, the LEC-7950 offers more power in a smaller form factor. The CPU is now on-board, leading to cost savings over the older model. The additional Mini-PCIe expansion slot (for a total of two slots) offers even greater scope for device customization, and the inclusion of an HDMI port and 4 DO ports each supporting 200 mA increases the desirability of this product for versatile display and signage uses. Another improvement over the previous generation is the provision of external access to the CF card slot, via a screw cover on the front face of the LEC-7950, allowing for easy change and maintenance of CompactFlash-based operating systems.

The second product released today is the LEC-2280, a fanless industrial PC with a 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i3/i5/i7 processor. By implementing the “Ivy Bridge” architecture from Intel, the LEC-2280 shows considerable performance improvements over the previous generation of IPCs, including at least a 25% boost in graphical performance. With robust performance and a range of I/O options provided by the PCI/PCIe expansion slot, the LEC-2280 is targeted at the surveillance and machine vision segments.

These platforms are compatible with Microsoft operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 7 and Linux. Both these products will be on show at the Lanner booth (#K0828) at Computex 2013, held at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan from June 4-8.
