The year of 2017 had been a remarkable period for network virtualization. We have witnessed the trends of Software-defined networking, booming use of SD-WAN, and we see the new network architectures implemented in factory, business branches, and retail stores. In 2017, we have enriched our SDN/NFV ecosystem by working with new software partners including 128 technology, Accedian, NTT Netcracker, and Ciena Blueplanet. By now, we have established partnerships with 12 leading SD-WAN companies adapting Lanner vCPE/uCPE platforms for building their SD-WAN solutions.

To meet the ongoing demand for vCPE and uCPE, we have launched new lineup of network platforms including NCA-1611 with carrier-grade high availability, and all-new Intel® Atom™ C3000 series (formerly Denverton) based NCA-2510 featuring virtualization-optimized design with up to 16 high core counts, 10G SFP+ interface and Intel QAT/SR-IOV/DPDK-ready support. For various wireless connectivity demands in vCPE applications, we will also upgrade our FW-7551-SE with enhanced WiFi/LTE support.

In 2017, we have also witnessed the network computing paradigm shift from cloud to edge, as related applications have been observed in AI, 4K video transport, machine vision, autonomous driving and intelligent surveillance, all leading to the future of edge computing in the 5G networks. To meet the technology required by 5G, Lanner has supplied optimal network platform NCA-6210 for network virtualization and security, powered by the new microachitecture derived from the new Intel Xeon Scalable Processors (formerly Skylake-SP). For video transcoding and AI computing, we have offered FX-3810 with support for multiple GPU cards to accelerate video encoding. For factor vision inspection, we have PoE-ready LEC-2137 and LEC-6032E in our lineup designed as gateways for vision inspection, physical security and rugged industrial surveillance.
