The recent incidents of ransomware have revealed new types of vulnerabilities towards enterprise data or the access to the data. Ransomware presents a new wave of malicious attacks based on cryptovirology, like Petya and WannaCry, which are well-known examples of new multi-vector ransomware that can evade detection and spread swiftly across network shares, resulting in data loss, access block or unwanted data exposure for SMBs, distributed enterprises, and even critical infrastructure sectors like banking, energy and transportation.
Taipei, Taiwan – Aug 1st, 2017 –Lanner Electronics, Inc (TAIEX 6245), a global leader in SDN/NFV ready hardware solutions, is partnering with Brain4Net, an innovative SDN/NFV solution vendor and ONF member, to launch ONF-certified network appliances, optimized by B4N SwitchOS. The network appliances by Lanner in this collaboration has successfully completed the certification process under OpenFlow Conformance Testing Program at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), and received the OpenFlow Version 1.3.4 Switch Conformance Test Report. Lanner’s participating x86-based appliances FW-8894 and NCA-5510, along with B4N SwitchOS have become the world’s first* OpenFlow switches that have passed extensive rounds of testing and able to guarantee the highest level of product conformance with OpenFlow specifications as well as the ecosystem-readiness deployment.
Enhanced security operations such as physical security and surveillance analytics are required by almost all industries. Such security measures provide real-time intelligence for live HD video detection of security events and are instrumental not only in safeguarding business intelligence but also in facilitating efficient workforce management and optimizing operational decisions.
To establish a carrier-grade NFV infrastructure, the total integration of hardware and software is necessary in order to have a well-built virtual network environment for VNF deployments. Hardware wise, the platform shall accommodate high CPU core counts, high-throughput, carrier-grade reliability and scalability to be NFVi-ready.
The Lanner NCA-6210, a 2U x86 rackmount network appliance built with the Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor platform and C621/C627 chipset , features powerful networking processing capability, higher throughput for virtualization applications, up to 640GB DDR4 2666MHz REG DIMM and the support for 1.5x memory bandwidth as previous generation Intel® Xeon® processor based server platforms.
Today sees the addition of the NCA-1611 to Lanner’s NCA Series network appliances.
