Thus far into 2020 it has not been business as usual as companies scrambled to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic and rushed to implement a feasible work-from-home model in order to ensure a productive and secure workforce. To securely connect teleworkers to the enterprise networks, businesses must integrate multiple security functions into a single appliance, one that delivers not only end-to-end visibility for potential threats with zero-touch deployments but also flexibility for implementing security measures on the fly and simplicity for effortless centralized management.

Securing Remote Workforces at Scale

To help teleworkers establish secure accesses to corporate document and applications, the importance of enterprise NGFW comes in two folds; first is to enable scalable, trusted virtual private networks (VPN) for tunneled connections over a public network and IPsec traffic encryption; another is to accommodate the unexpected surge of teleworkers during shelter-in-place, ensuring data integrity by way of delivering the following remote network functions

  1. SSL/IPSEC VPN pre-set for remote access
  2. Load-balance of VPN traffic and teleworker connections
  3. Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP)
  4. QoS for traffic-intensive applications such as video/voice conferencing
  5. End-to-end monitoring and centralized analytics
