An embedded system is any computer whose main purpose is not computing. This is not to say that these systems do not compute, but rather their computing functionality is second to their true purpose. A good example of this is a graphing calculator, a small computer whose main function is to solve mathematical equations.
At Lanner most of our embedded systems are computers designed with specific functionality in mind, such as digital signage, human-machine interfaces, SCADA control or wireless mobility.

Industrial Automation
Industrial Automation is a computing product that uses sensory equipment or inputted data to carry out specific tasks. These IPCs are designed for longevity in rugged environments.

Medical Computing Platforms
Lanner offers a range of SBCs and IPCs that can be customized to meet the high standards of medical computing platforms. These platforms need to be easy to clean and not interfere with other equipment.

Single Board Computer
A Single Board Computer (SBC) is a motherboard designed to include all of the interface components required for a complete embedded system. SBCs are often small and used in Industrial PCs.

SCADA Systems
SCADA systems consist of a general computing system, a series of sensors and remote terminal units. Lanner made embedded computers are ideal for RTUs used to process and collate data.
